Foundation Studies - A
Structured Workplace Learning Program La-Vere’s
Hospitality Foundation Studies is a 3 phase Program providing real skills
required by the industry, 80 hours of paid employment in a hospitality
workplace and straightforward pathways to VET Certificate 2, Traineeships /
Apprenticeships in Hospitality or tertiary study for Diploma in Event
Management and Degree in Tourism and Hospitality. Students
can undertake Phase 1 of the program during school holidays, receive credits
toward their QCE and upon completion of the necessary assessment receive further
QCE credits (up to 4 more for VET Cert2). Instructed
by industry specialists, given real employability skills and placed in paid
employment, students gain a true taste of what the Hospitality Industry has
to offer them. Well informed decisions can be made about a future career. The
preparatory learning and training phase of the proposed Structured Workplace
Learning Program will/may occur during school holidays and/or weekends while
the workplace and assessment phases will occur during the normal school terms
of Years 11 and 12.
Completion of the Hospitality Foundation Studies
provides a simple pathway for the completion of a VET Certificate in
hospitality. Undertake a Certificate II for 4 more QCE Credits
